2) Michael Jackson is my example of a star that links to Richard Dyers' Theory. Firstly, he is very well known and often associated with his dance move 'The Moon Walk' and is often remembered for his style of dress, which included a white glove, black blazer, trousers and a black hat. Obviously, Michael Jackson didn't moon walk everywhere, which conveys that he had a construction. In addition, he wouldn't have dressed like he did on stage or in music videos in real life, which also suggests he had a construction. Furthermore, he had commodity as a lot of merchandise was created. They are apart of a culture but have specific characteristics and differentiate themselves from the parent culture. For example, 'Hippies' . 3) Teddy Boys: In the early 1950's, subculture originated in London and later spread across the UK. The subculture was linked to Rock and Roll music and they had a very distinctive style. Featuring tapered trousers and long jackets, Teddy Boys created the new 'Edwardian Look', which swept men's fashion within the UK. Although they were associated with Rock and Roll music, they often listened to Jazz and Skiffle music. Because The Teddy Boys were the first youth group to differentiate themselves as teenagers, it helped to create a youth market. However, some Teddy Boys formed gangs and had a lot of violent clashes with other gangs, which were often exaggerated by the press. ...

Why are Alfred Hitchcock's films so famous? Alfred Hitchcock managed to have very good camera angles and shots, despite the act that he worked from the silent era into the 1970's. Also, because he didn't have access to the very advanced technology like we do today, it meant the great shots he managed to capture and  the scenes, that he blended so effortlessly, made his films even more enjoyable to watch. An example of his talent with shots can be shown in the fake shots, like the stairwell fall in 'Psycho'. Also, he had a great way of infusing humour into even the scariest and most disturbing films. Because he did this so successfully, made the characters and the films, that he produced, so memorable for his audience. Finally, Hitchcock managed to break the boundaries with his films. In Psycho, he took a great risk by killing the main character off halfway through the film.

Jonathan George Snow (Journalist, Television Presenter and News Anchor) Best known as the longest-running presenter on Channel 4 News, it is clear to see that Jon  Snow is dedicated to his career and has a passion for Journalism and Media. Jon Snow's Early Life Information Snow was hired by Lord Longford to direct the New Horizon Youth Centre, which was a day centre for young, homeless people in Central London. As this was in the early years of his life, I think it demonstrates that Jon Snow is a Philanthropist and also cares about contributing towards tackling issues within society, instead of just informing people about them. He later became a chairman of the day centre. Snow's Dedication Snow being dedicated to his career can be shown in the fact that he was sent to Haiti in 2010 to report on the Cholera Outbreak. I like the wartime photos, captured by Robert Capa (Endre Friedmann.) It is very rare that you see images from war zones as not many photographers will risk their lives to capture such moments. I think the fact Capa, not only put himself in the anger of a war, but also captured such a rare photo makes it significant and also explains why I think Robert Capa is a Media Hero. Due to his dedication and photography talent, I believe that he deserves that title.

Is Mark Zuckerberg a Media Hero?= I believe that Mark Zuckerberg is a media hero. Firstly, he launched Facebook in his dormitory room on 4th February 2004. The fact that he launched it independently in such an unadvanced place and Facebook went on to be a success, instantly explains why he should be considered a hero. Also, he has allowed over "2.20 billion people (Facebook users)  around the world with the ability to communicate with others and even be up-to-date with current affairs and the world's news, which is an amazing achievement. Not only has he had great success with his entrepreneur career, he has also proved himself to be a great philanthropist and give great donations to charity. This can be shown in the fact that he was "America's biggest charity donor in 2013", where he gave £598 million to the Silicon Valley Community Foundation.
