Capitalism- Where wealth is privately owned and controlled instead of being commonly, publicly or state owned and controlled. (Citizen control over economy.) Socialism- Very democratic and believe everyone should be heard/ have the chance to have their say. More government control over things like economy etc. Communism-Believe that all people should be equal. They believe that there should be a new society without any economic classes (middle class, working class), no private land and no profits. Socialism and communism have similarities. Communists think that capitalist economic and political systems must be completely overthrown through revolution. ↗ The 'ism' that I have focused on.

2) An example of a Dominant Ideology would be that it is illegal to carry a gun in the UK. 2a) I agree with the dominant ideology that it is illegal to carry a gun in the UK because it makes you feel safer knowing that it is against the law and it prevents guns from getting into the wrong hands. Also, it lowers gun crimes. 2b) Because it is legal in America to carry a gun, they could challenge this ideology by using the fact that you don't have as much protection if you don't carry a gun. Also, in an attack in America, the attacker was shot by a victim, who mattered to have their gun with them. If the victim hadn't have had their gun, the attacker would've been able to kill a lot more people.

1)  What impact could headlines like this have on dominant ideologies? Firstly, the benefit system was introduced in order to support families temporarily because they had hit financial struggles. The fact that it says "milk the benefit system" suggests that the man was abusing the system. This could result in changing a person's impression of people, who are on benefits, and could make people want to get rid of the benefit system, affecting the families that desperately need it. Also, because it mentions the terrible crimes that the "vile" man committed, it could lead to the public wanting to change the Criminal Justice System. Furthermore, it could also result in people criticising the Criminal Justice System, that has been put in place. Lastly, because the article mentions "social workers" and saying that they "did nothing" could affect social workers and make people question whether they are working to the standards they should be...

    Pictorial definition of the term 'Ideology': I think Ideology is about different people having views on the world and on issues in the world. The views they have are influenced and affected by things such as; past experiences, cultures and beliefs. There are many different groups full of people with the same views, cultures and beliefs etc.
